Carol J. Geffner, Ph.D. is a global management consultant, executive coach, keynote speaker, and leadership scholar. She is President of the Geffner Group LLC, a management consulting and executive coaching firm. Until recently, she was Professor of Practice of Governance, Management and Policy at the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy and Director of the Executive Master of Leadership Program. Carol is also an affiliate of the Kets De Vries’ Institute, a global executive coaching firm headquartered in London.
In prior positions, Dr. Geffner served as President of CBV Consultants, and Newpoint Healthcare Advisors, both professional services firms that focused on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and culture change. She is also the former President of Shared Services and Chief Learning Officer for Freedom Communications, a national publishing, entertainment and media company.
Dr. Geffner has global expertise working with CEOs, entrepreneurs, and executive teams on strategy, executive development, and large-scale change. A partial client list includes ABC, United Healthcare, USC, Merck, Deutsche Bank, Kaiser, UC Irvine Health, and numerous public and private sector organizations in law enforcement, healthcare, environmental health and safety, and education.
Her new book, Building A New Leadership Ladder: Transforming Male-Dominated Organizations to Support Women on the Rise, was recently published by MIT Press. It is the first evidence-based book that highlights the need for organization-wide change to support success of women leaders.
Carol serves on the Advisory Board at Claremont Graduate University’s Peter Drucker School of Management. She is also a member of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Leadership Advisory Council.
Dr. Geffner earned a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University, a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
